The customer is a keen amateur artist and wanted to full fill a dream to have his own artists studio in his rear garden to work from, as well as a place to simply retreat to and chill out in the summer months.
The plot lent itself to provide an ‘L’ shaped artists studio with adjoining double doors with the proviso that in one of the rooms ‘velux’ skylight windows were incorporated in the roof to maximise the natural light available.
The log cabin was made from 58mm logs and all the windows and doors were double glazed as standard. The roof was also insulated to keep in the warmth in the winter but equally as important, to help keep the building cool in the summer months.
The building was also painted with the customers specific colours of treatment and the final addition to make this whole project look stunning was the addition of the decking and steps made from a composite material, not wood, which compliments the log cabin and also has a 25 year guarantee.
The photographs with the internal lights clearly show this artist’s studio building oozes a sense of warmth and welcome to it.
